SEAN F. DARKE focuses his practice for Wessels Sherman by successfully defending and advising companies in areas of both employment and labor laws.  Mr. Darke counsels and defends businesses in state and federal courts on class action lawsuits filed under the Fair Labor Standards Act, The Illinois Minimum Wage Act, The Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act, The Equal Pay Act, and other wage and hour laws.  Mr. Darke also defends businesses in unemployment claims, as well as, claims/lawsuits filed under Title VII or Illinois Human Rights Act, involving discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, and disability claims.   Mr. Darke has been named Illinois Super Lawyer-Rising Star for 2014, 2015, and 2016. 

Mr. Darke is the lead editor for the Illinois Employer's Guide to Wage and Hour Issues, 2nd Edition-2016 presented by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce.  Mr. Darke also presents numerous seminars and webinars throughout the Midwest.  In addition, Mr. Darke advises and consults with businesses across the country on how to properly apply wage and hour laws.                            

Mr. Darke earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the Michigan State University College of Law.  Mr. Darke also gained international legal studies at the University Of Dublin College Of Law, Dublin, Ireland where he studied labor issues relating to the European Union through a summer program with Duquesne University School of Law.  Mr. Darke earned his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Potsdam in Business Economics.
